Army step in to end Algeria gas plant siege
The Algerian army has conducted a military operation at a gas facility in eastern Algeria where hostages were being held, according to the country's state news agency.
Algerian soldiers had been surrounding the facility near In Amenas that kidnappers occupied on Wednesday, after killing a Briton and an Algerian.
Local media is reporting that four foreign hostages were freed but that the operation resulted in a number of "victims".
