Is satellite TV killing African football?

On a recent Sunday, the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana was only a quarter full for a game between two of Ghana's biggest teams, Kumasi's Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professionals, while local bars were packed with fans watching English football.

Ahead of the BBC Africa Debate which will take place in Durban, South Africa, on 1 February, the BBC's Akwasi Sarpong asks whether satellite television can really be blamed for declining interest in African football.

The debate will be broadcast by BBC Africa at 1900GMT on Friday 1 February and 1300GMT on Sunday 3 February
