Fears of an ethnic conflict as Malians prepare for battle

France has declared that three weeks of air strikes in northern Mali have left Islamist militants "in disarray", but the conflict remains a long way from being resolved.

Malians in the south are now preparing to go to battle, with many seeking revenge for atrocities committed during the nine months of strict Islamist rule.
