Protest over 'greedy' politicians' pay in Nairobi, Kenya

Protesters in Kenya have released a pig and about a dozen piglets outside parliament in Nairobi to show their anger at newly elected MPs demanding higher pay.

MPs are demanding a monthly salary of about $10,000 (£6,540) while the average annual salary in Kenya is about $1,700.

It is not clear whether any animals were harmed during the protest by civil society groups, although one protester claimed that a pig was slaughtered as part of the demonstration.
