Barack Obama begins Africa tour

President Obama is in Senegal at the start of his tour of Africa during which he will also visit South Africa.

It is Mr Obama's second visit to the continent since he became president.

He is hoping to boost economic ties with the African countries he visits and promote good governance.

The BBC's Thomas Fessy in Senegal says this is an acknowledgement that Senegal has come a long way.
