Nelson Mandela buried at ancestral home

The funeral of the former South African President, Nelson Mandela, has taken place at his boyhood home of Qunu, in the Eastern Cape.

Some 4,500 people, including senior politicians and several foreign dignitaries, attended the state funeral in a marquee near the family burial plot where he was buried.

His widow, Graca Machel, and President Jacob Zuma were present for the private, traditional Xhosa ceremony which followed.

John Simpson reports.
