Sudanese diva Amira Kheir on her desert songs
Amira Kheir has been hailed as the Diva of the Sudanese Desert and is one of the most popular folk musicians to emerge from Sudan in the last decade.
She burst onto the scene in 2011 with her critically acclaimed album View From Somewhere.
Since then she has enchanted audiences around the world with her smooth blend of traditional music from her homeland anchored in jazz and soul. She is also about to release a new album, titled Alsahraa.
The singer told BBC Africa's Peter Okwoche about her new works.
