Libya: New parliament meets in Tobruk under heavy guard

A Royal Navy ship is heading for Tripoli to evacuate British people who want to leave Libya, as the country faces increasing violence between rival militias.

Fighting has intensified around the international airport in the Libyan capital and more than 200 people have been killed in Tripoli and Benghazi in the last two weeks.

Meanwhile the majority of the country's newly elected parliament members met, under heavy guard, in the coastal city of Tobruk.

Emily Thomas reports.
