The first ever US-Africa summit has started in Washington DC and one important issue for many smaller African nations will be the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (Agoa).

This act gives African countries duty free access to American markets and has helped growth in many countries on the continent.

It is due to expire next year and if it is not renewed it could have an severe impact on smaller and poorer nations.
