Boko Haram crisis: Fears group expanding beyond Nigeria

The Nigerian Islamic extremist group Boko Haram has kidnapped 80 people from a village in neighbouring Cameroon - many of them are children.

It is one of its biggest abductions outside Nigeria and raises fears that Boko Haram is expanding its attacks.

The authorities in Cameroon say 24 hostages were rescued, but the rest were taken by Boko Haram to their camps in north-eastern Nigeria.

The increase in attacks seems to have exposed weaknesses in the military response, as the BBC's Nigeria correspondent Will Ross reports.
