Nigerian army targets Boko Haram militants' bases
The Nigerian military says it has killed at least 300 Boko Haram fighters over the last two days in the north east of the country.
In a statement the military says the jihadists were killed during two days of sustained air and land operations in Borno State in the north-east of the country.
Two soldiers also died.
Defence spokesman Chris Olukolade explained the nature of the operation to the BBC's Abdullahi Kaura Abubakar.
