Burundi: 'Bullets came through my window'

One resident of Bujumbura, Burundi, has told the BBC of the day and night he spent trapped in his home as gunfire rippled throughout the nearby streets.

On 14 May, before the return of President Pierre Nkurunziza, the possibility of a coup d'etat brought fierce conflict to the capital city.

Bob (not his real name) sent the BBC still pictures of the bullets and casings which ended up in his home, as well as audio recording of the gunfire.

"There are only army men in the streets," said Bob. "Nobody can go outside."
