'The fight must go on' over Bashir

Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir, who is accused of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide during the Darfur conflict, has left South Africa pre-empting a court ruling over an international warrant for his arrest.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague wants Mr Bashir to stand trial, and as a member of the ICC South Africa is obliged to arrest anyone it charges.

Mukesh Kapila, special representative on crimes against humanity for the Aegis Trust - and the former UN Sudan chief - says the ICC's efforts to bring Mr Bashir before the court must continue.
