Nigeria's Chibok girls 'had become Boko Haram'

A former Boko Haram captive has told the BBC that she witnessed some of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls committing murder in Nigeria.

Anna, who escaped from a Boko Haram camp after being held for five months, told reporter Tulip Mazumdar that "people were tied and laid down and the girls took it from there… The Chibok girls slit their throats."

She said she felt no malice towards the girls she'd seen taking part in the violence, only pity.

"Its not their fault they were forced to do it." she added. "Anyone who see the Chibok girls has to feel sorry for them."

Panorama: The Missing Stolen School Children is on BBC One at 20:30 BST on Monday 29 June and available later via iPlayer.
