Does Ethiopia need aid to cope with drought?

Ethiopia is suffering its worst drought in decades with more than 10 million people needing emergency aid.

It’s a very different country today, compared to 1984 when hundreds of thousands of people died in the famine that prompted Live Aid.

Ethiopia has one of the fastest growing economies in the world and the government is stepping in to provide for its people.

But as Alastair Leithead has found out in the drought-affected east of the country, it still needs a lot of international help.
