15-year-old Afghan girl 'tortured by her family'

A 15-year-old Afghan child bride has been locked up, starved and tortured by her husband and his family for several months.

Police in Afghanistan rescued Sahar Gul, who had been locked up in the basement of her in-laws' house.

She had also had nails and clumps of her hair pulled out, as well as chunks of flesh cut out with pliers, according to the police.

A video handed to the BBC shows some of the injuries she suffered.
