China demands US apologise for 'unacceptable interference'
The Chinese government is demanding an apology from the United States, accusing it of 'unacceptable interference' in the case of a high profile dissident.
After nearly a week inside the US embassy in Beijing, Chen Guangcheng has now left the premises and says he will be staying in China.
The US says it offered him sanctuary on exceptional humanitarian grounds - but a continued stay in the embassy would have cast a shadow over Hillary Clinton's forthcoming talks in China.
