Sri Lanka's former army chief urges co-operation with war inquiry
In his first interview since being released from custody, Sri Lanka's former army chief Sarath Fonseka has told the BBC he is prepared to face a war crimes investigation, but rejects allegations that tens of thousands of civilians were killed by troops under his command.
General Fonseka led the army to victory over the Tamil Tiger separatists, but later fell out with President Mahinda Rajapakse over who should take credit.
The following year he unsuccessfully challenged Mr Rajapakse for the presidency and was later jailed for corruption.
