Bangladesh calls off rescue after floods kills 110

Rescuers in Bangladesh have called off efforts to find people still missing or trapped after floods and landslides swept parts of the south east.

More than 100 people have died and thousands remain displaced, with many marooned on higher ground.

The monsoon season brought nearly a week of heavy rain, which also devastated parts of India.

There, at least 27 people died and nearly a million were forced from their homes when floods swamped 2,084 villages across most of Assam state.
