Beijing pollution monitored with kite-mounted sensors
Beijing is notorious for its grey-brownish smog days and poor air quality.
Two students from the US are trying to raise awareness by conducting workshops for the local residents on how to built sensors small enough to mount on kites.
By engaging the kite enthusiasts, they are hoping to get people talking about the issue.
Xiaowei Wang, a student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, told BBC News what had inspired her and module designer Deren Guler to come up with the idea.
