Maldives report sparks street protests in Male
The former president of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has criticised an inquiry commission which concluded that his departure from office six months ago was legal and was not a coup as he alleges.
The panel's findings have been endorsed by the heads of the UN and the Commonwealth but Mr Nasheed said its account set an awkward precedent on how to change governments - as his supporters demonstrated in the streets.
