Bangladesh strikes: Rubber bullets and tear gas fired

Police have fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse thousands of protesters from Bangladesh's largest Islamic party, which is demanding the release of its leaders from prison.

Jamaat-e-Islami has enforced the strike as many of its leaders stand accused of crimes against humanity during Bangladesh's war of independence in 1971.

Anbarasan Ethirajan reports from Dhakar.
