'Much more activism needed' after India rape case

India's first and highest ranking woman police officer, Kiran Bedi, has said she was not surprised by the gang rape of a 23-year-old in Delhi.

Ms Bedi, who is now a social activist, said there had been a drought of good community policing, as counter terrorism work was given a priority.

She praised the fast tracking of the case - but said that politicians needed to work on changing people's attitudes towards sex attacks.
