Bangladesh war crimes case verdict due

A special war crimes tribunal in Bangladesh is due to pronounce its verdict in a case involving a senior leader of the country's main Islamist party.

Abdul Kader Mullah of the Jamaat-e-Islami is charged with crimes against humanity in connection with the killings of an estimated three million Bangladeshis during the country's independence from Pakistan in 1971.

But the trial has led to a violent backlash, as the BBC's Sanjoy Majumder reports from Dhaka.
