Bangladesh: Calls for war crimes trial to be halted
Bangladeshi political leaders accused of war crimes are demanding a fresh trial, following the resignation of the presiding judge.
Leaders of the biggest Islamist political party, Jamaat-e-Islami, have been on trial accused of crimes against humanity during the country's war of independence in 1971.
After private correspondence from the presiding judge was leaked to the media, supporters of the defendants have called for the trial to be stopped immediately.
