Can talks with the Taliban bring peace to Afghanistan?

There is exactly one year to go before Afghans go to the polls to elect a new president.

Months later Nato combat troops are due to complete their withdrawal from the country.

The Taliban is still a major obstacle in bringing peace to the country but there are signs that negotiations with them could be worthwhile.

Speaking to the BBC's Caroline Wyatt, one of the key negotiators for the government, Masoom Stanakzai, said the Taliban leadership does want to talk.
