All-women jirga in Pakistan to tackle discrimination
The Swat valley in Pakistan has become synonymous with abysmal women's rights. It was here that the Taliban shot schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai in the head last year for campaigning for women's education.
Most disputes in the tribal areas are resolved by jirgas - traditional assemblies of local elders. Until now this parallel justice system has been men-only, and rulings have often discriminated against women.
But now a new all-women jirga aims to change that, but it's not without risk.
