US withdraws non-essential staff from Lahore

The US has ordered all non-essential government personnel to leave Pakistan's second city, Lahore, following a "credible threat".

US personnel remaining at the country's consulate-general in Lahore have been told to limit non-essential travel within the country.

On Thursday, the US issued a travel warning advising all of its citizens to defer non-essential travel to Pakistan.
