Pakistan Musharraf charges 'politically motivated'

Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has been charged in connection with the 2007 assassination of opposition leader and former PM Benazir Bhutto.

The former military ruler has denied charges of murder, criminal conspiracy to murder and facilitation of murder.

Mr Musharraf says the charges are politically motivated, a sentiment echoed by his spokesman, Dr Raza Bokhari, in an interview with the BBC.

Dr Bokhari also said that Mr Musharraf would fight to clear his name and dismissed the allegation "not only unfair but baseless".
