Two killed on second day of Bangladesh general strike

At least two people have been killed in different parts of Bangladesh as opposition supporters clashed with police and ruling party activists on the second day of a general strike.

The opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its Islamist ally have called for the 60 hour shutdown to force the current government to make way for a caretaker administration to oversee general elections due in January.

Mahfuz Sadique reports.
