Inside Japan's stricken Fukushima unit four nuclear reactor
Engineers at Japan's wrecked Fukushima nuclear power station are preparing to extract the first of more than 1,000 nuclear fuel rods from one of the reactor buildings.
The fuel rods in reactor building four, which was badly damaged by an explosion following an earthquake and tsunami in March 2011 have been in a precarious state ever since.
Moving them into safe storage is a high priority, but the operation has only become possible after months of repair work and planning.
