Thai deputy PM: 'Election in parallel with reform'
Thailand's Constitutional Court has ruled that a general election scheduled for 2 February can be legally postponed - but only with agreement between the prime minister and the election commission.
The commission has called for a delay, saying that the current political turmoil in Thailand makes holding the election too difficult.
But in an interview with the BBC's Jonathan Head, the Prime Minister's Office Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan said reform in the country was appropriate, but that there was no legal alternative to an election.
