Bangkok gunfight witness: I thought I wouldn't survive

Several people have been injured by gunfire in Bangkok, during clashes involving anti-government protesters.

The violence erupted ahead of Sunday's elections as a stand-off took place between supporters and opponents of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

The shots were fired as demonstrators blockaded a building where ballot papers are being stored, in an attempt to prevent their distribution.

Journalist Nick Nostitz was caught up in the gunfire and said he wasn't sure if he would survive.
