Afghanistan: Attack on election commission in Kabul

Taliban militants in Afghanistan have attacked the headquarters of the country's independent election commission launching rocket propelled grenades and firing heavy machine guns.

The assault took place in the capital Kabul and is the latest in a series of attacks designed to disrupt the presidential vote, due to be held next week.
