Vietnam holds anti-China protests over South China Sea dispute

Protesters in Vietnam have staged large anti-China rallies in cities across the country, following a week of tension.

Demonstrators called on Beijing to withdraw from an oil rig in disputed waters in the South China Sea.

A Vietnamese naval ship collided with a Chinese vessel in the sea there last week.

The authorities rarely allow such rallies, so they are being seen as a sign of the level of the government's anger.

Charles Scanlon reports.
