At Afghan army academy ahead of military withdrawal

Despite more than a decade of conflict, Afghanistan's government remains locked in an ongoing battle against the Taliban and other insurgents.

Soon, the remainder of the international forces will complete their withdrawal - leaving the Afghan military to stand on its own.

To that end, the ISAF mission has been training Afghan personnel at an academy known as 'the Sandhurst of the Sands' - a reference to the UK's elite training centre.

Bill Turnbull went to see it in action.
