Hong Kong protests: Police vow to restore order

Hong Kong's police force has vowed to "take any necessary action" to restore order after two weeks of protests.

Thousands of people attended a rally overnight, over China's plans to vet candidates in 2017 elections.

Speaking at a news briefing, police spokesperson Steve Hui added that any injuries resulting from further confrontations would be the responsibility of the protest organisers.
