Afghanistan: John Simpson retraces his 2001 Kabul journey
The BBC's John Simpson was one of the first western journalists to cross into Afghanistan in 2001 as the Taliban regime fell.
When he entered the city of Kabul it was the first time many of the population realised the the Taliban's brutal rule had finally come to an end.
On the day when British troops completely withdraw from the country he retraces his steps in the city to see what progress has been made in the intervening 13 years.
