President Obama 'optimistic' of political change in Myanmar

US President Barack Obama has said he is "optimistic" about the political transition process in Myanmar, during a visit to the country.

His comments came after a night-time meeting with President Thein Sein.

"We recognise that change is hard and it doesn't always move in a straight line. But I am optimistic about the possibilities of Myanmar,'' Mr Obama told reporters.
