The BBC looks at Pakistan's battle with the Taliban

The Pakistani Taliban have been trying to destabilise the government for many years.

They control areas in the north-west of the country, and have been blamed for a wave of suicide bombings and other attacks.

Earlier this year there were peace talks between the Taliban and the Pakistani government, but they broke up without any agreement.

The BBC's Mike Wooldridge reports from Kabul.
