Pope Francis greets worshippers in Manila

Pope Francis has started his official visit to the Philippines with a rousing welcoming ceremony in the capital, Manila.

Thousands of people have attended his first mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.

It is thought that millions of worshippers could attend another open-air Mass in the capital on Sunday.
