Jordan seeks prisoner exchange with Islamic State to free pilot

A Jordanian government spokesperson said Jordan is "ready to release" an Iraqi woman in exchange for captured pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh.

Sajida al-Rishawi is an Iraqi al-Qaeda militant sentenced to death in Jordan.

The Jordanian government will release her if Mr al-Kasasbehd, can be released "without jeopardising his life".

In the statement broadcast on Jordanian television they said "Jordan's stance from the beginning is to secure the life of our son".
