US wartime pilot: How I grew to love Japan
This Saturday, 15 August, will mark the 70th anniversary of the day Japan announced its surrender in World War Two.
Among those who fought and survived is Jerry Yellin, who flew US combat missions over Japan, and for many years struggled to come to terms with what happened.
He told the BBC's Rupert Wingfield-Hayes how his feelings for the ''enemy nation'' transformed - and how decided to dedicate his life to raising awareness of the ''reality and horror of war''.
