US military say Afghans requested help over Kunduz

The US military has changed its account of an air strike which struck a hospital in Afghanistan, saying it was requested by Afghan troops under Taliban fire.

It had previously claimed that insurgents had been firing at American forces.

Twenty-two people, including medical staff, were killed in the attack in Kunduz on Saturday.

The charity Medecins Sans Frontieres - which runs the hospital - has called it a war crime.

Nick Bryant reports.
