North Korean news agency: We can 'beat up' on US mainland

North Korean state media has announced that the country is ready to "beat up" on the US mainland "anytime, anywhere".

The US has been carrying out military exercises with South Korea.

The state agency warned the US "will be held accountable" for any war in the region, regardless of which side mounted a "pre-emptive attack".
