Three elephants rescued from reservoir in China

Three wild elephants that were stuck in a reservoir in China's south-western Yunnan province for two days have been freed after an excavator was used to break the wall.

Footage from state broadcaster CCTV shows two adults elephants and one calf stuck in the water.

Authorities believe the calf fell into the water first and the two adults then tried to save it before getting stuck themselves, Xinhua news agency reports.
