Ancient Chinese Uygur houses at risk of collapse

A number of centuries-old houses made from traditional techniques by the Uygur people in the old city of Kashgar, in northwest China, are at risk of falling down due to a lack of solid foundations and an increase in annual rainfall.

Now, the local government says it will try to preserve the ancient structures and rebuild the ones that can not be saved.

Xiaoyun Yao reports.
