China rights lawyer Xia Lin put on trial
A prominent Chinese civil rights lawyer has been put on trial in Beijing.
Xia Lin, who represented human rights lawyer Pu Zhiqiang and artist Ai Weiwei's company, was detained in 2014 and charged with fraud.
The US has previously criticised Beijing for what it called a "severe crackdown" on lawyers linked to human rights campaigners.
Journalists and supporters are barred from entering the courtroom, as the BBC's Stephen McDonell reports.
