Local Muslims claim ancient mosque remains discovered in Delhi

The recently discovered remains of a Mughal-era building in Delhi are generating excitement in the local Muslim community who are convinced that the ruins of the 17th Century Akbarabadi mosque have been found.

But Hindu groups have protested against attempts by Muslims to rebuild the structure and start praying there.

Entry to the site has now been banned by the Delhi High Court until the Archaeological Survey of India determines exactly what the ruins are.

BBC Urdu's Suhail Haleem reports.
