Brahmaputra voices: Man v megadam

On the banks of the Brahmaputra river in India, many are worried about the arrival of so-called "megadams".

Dams are being built upstream in China and, closer to home, in India. Both governments say the projects are needed to provide power to their people.

Stories abound of sudden drops in water levels, river channels narrowing over time, and dwindling supplies of once-plentiful fish.

The BBC heard some of their stories.
